VIII-The Grim Reapers of Souls
My day had proceeded slowly, so I eager to go at the invitation of Lilith to talk with her again.
By the end of my courses at the Academy, as the sun began to set, I walked towards the imposing Camelot Castle on the first floor which, had we said, was the "hall of medallions ". It was actually a huge balcony overlooking the entire perimeter of the ground floor. I was impressed by the beauty of the place, the floor polished wood railing carved with art, stained glass windows depicting the epic adventures of our good King Arthur and, in the setting sun, gave this place a unique atmosphere.
To my left, a mass of adventurers crowded around two men. I soon realized that the first which addressed travelers sold them famous necklaces allowing them to reach their destination and the second, a mage, chanted a spell turning the power of jewelry. So I walked into the shop, bought a medallion for Jordheim and tied it around my neck. Then I waited patiently for my turn to ask the magician to teleport to the capital Midgarienne.
I can not describe the feeling I felt when the "jump" ... It took me a few seconds before resuming my spirits and get rid of the slight dizziness that had invaded. I tell myself that this surely would be dissipated with the usual ... Once past my uneasiness, I looked around me. I found myself in a huge room paneled entirely on a large stage where they attended the same arena as the "hall of medallions" Camelot. Seeing a staircase, I descended nimbly out of the building. The frigid air that greeted me surprised me and I tightened my cape around my shoulders, "the next time I think of myself more warmly cover," I murmured.
I set off across Jordheim, in search of the tavern mowers Souls. Walking in the backstreets of the city allowed me to appreciate the local architecture. She breathed the simplicity, strength and solidity, like the inhabitants of this kingdom, forced to operate in a harsh climate with extreme winters long and harsh. I asked several times on my way for fear of losing me and soon came to an opulent inn whose sign bore the name "At Rosita" and from which arose the shouts and peals of laughter.
Without hesitation, I opened the door ... Inside, a terrible commotion and a tantalizing smell of cooking assailed. I walked toward a large oak desk behind which sat the keeper.
- Hello, I began. I am looking for Lilith. Would you know if it arrived?
- The mowers are in the private room, Rosita replied with a warm smile. Lilith warned me that a young Minstrel surely join them in the evening. It is the gateway to the back of the room.
I thanked painfully and swerving through the crowd to finally reach my goal.
I decided not to strike, doubting to hear any response in the cacophony and timidly penetrated into the living room after closing the door behind me. A score of women surrounded a huge firebolgue with green hair, wearing a radiant smile. Lilith stood beside her and asked for silence:
- My sisters, "she announced. We are gathered tonight to celebrate the circle of our ultimate Great Téa. Pending the return of his quest, after which she will wear the Armor Epic members of his profession, welcome it with dignity!
She took her friend in his arms and kissed merrily on the cheeks.
- Teachaiika, congratulations ... and you know that answer these mowers if you want their help in your quest.
cheers rang throughout the room and rushed to their mowers companion to congratulate.
See people so different and yet so united in such a burst of joy made me warm heart. I felt the affection and respect which the inhabitants and made them stronger. The emotion took me by the throat and my eyes filled with tears. That's when Lilith saw me. She gave me a great sign of the hand and shouted:
- Kalliope, just as I present to you girls!
All eyes converged on me as I walked and their faces, I read that kindness and benevolence. Lilith took me by the shoulder and introduced me. The Mowers welcome me and asked me tons of questions, so that turned me head. Some shook hands with me, others kissed me, all laughing ...
The evening was a delight! I could not resist to sing a few songs punctuated, inviting young women to sing and dance with me. It felt to find myself in family ... one I had imagined in my childhood that I had missed so much. One that does not judge, one who loves you for what you are. And repelled by this friendly atmosphere, the black cloud and dense with sadness that my soul imprisoned in recent weeks, gradually vanished. I was so ...
